Fall foliage

How wonderful it looks on the farm when the fall settles in. I look at the animals on the hill and the back drop and carpet of fall leaves is gorgeous. I thought this was wonderful pics of the llamas and had to share. Angel is being so patriotic at the moment and Dahli is of course looking around guarding his turf! He is to much. The shop was open and folks were coming up the driveway and had to see who it was and decide if he would welcome them! They are always making me smile if not out right laugh!

Sunday afternnon

After one busy week and an afternoon of leaf blowing we decided to treat ourselves to some smoked ribs that Mike did perfectly in the smoker. So when the shop closed I made a wonderful tomato salad and homemade bread. We just sat, ate slow and enjoyed Karen's company (who joined us for some ribs) We even rented a movie and watched it after we ate. Settled in for a lazy Sunday afternoon! Hmmm, we must do this more often.

Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival Inspiration

Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival was this past weekend. We went on Saturday and spent the day in and out of all the barns chatting with all the vendors and admiring all the wonderful fiber arts. We met up with some from our group and all walked around together. It made it less painful for the husbands. They are really patient with us girls, I must say. Of course as usual we had a lot of laughs with one another! We ended the day all eating at our favorite place, then headed home. I was inspired to return home and get into needle felting. Our"girls day gathering" started it, and Rhinebeck just finished it for me! I returned home that night and started needle felting ( a little OCD) I was up until 1:30 in the am and then I dreamed of needle felting! What can I say? So Saturday night and Sunday which was a very rainy cold day I spent the day needle felting. The outcome was two wool stuffed pillows, pumpkins and sheep! I'm doing one of each of my sheep in their own wool. I will have my flock for ever! All it takes for me is an afternoon with the girls and a day at a sheep and wool fest. to light my fire! So, for now Im the "Needle Felting Queen".

Girls Day at Dream Come True Farm

On Monday October 12th Columbus Day, 7 of us girls got together and had a fiber arts day. Some knitted some needle felted. It was a wonderful gathering of friends. Lots was shared including friendships. We also had a Birthday celebration. Happy Birthday Karen. I made red velvet woopie pies and Marti made the filling, mmmm so good. We decorated the little cakes with umbrellas and candles, I lit the candles and walked away for a moment before bringing it in to Karen and PUFF one of the paper umbrellas caught fire and burnt up! Of course, only here. Oh well, we all had a good laugh. I can't wait for our next gathering we always have at least one good hilarious moment!

1% of sales from our String Bags goes to Member For The Planet

Reduce your carbon footprint use string bags instead of plastic

Our Farm shop is now carrying 100% organic string bags which we had made especially for our shop! Great to stuff and go! We use them for shopping to put my roving in while spinning or transporting it to spinning event, stuff with yarn and hang from a peg or in a closet. I use as a diaper bag for Luke, I store his rattles and books in them. Of course I take them to the grocery store and farm market. They are great for so many things. And the best part is they are organic!
You probably know about the health and environmental benefits of organic food. Why stop there? Organic growing methods support biodiversity and healthy ecosystems, improve the quality of soil and often use less water.
Proven over generations, the woven netting of string shopping bags makes them compact, lightweight, and able to stretch to hold up to 40 lbs. This is a go everywhere, use for everything tote that will never go out of style – especially in organic cotton. Visit http://www.pamsfiber.etsy.com/ or e-mail me if interested in a few of our bags.
