New creations!

ALL CAPLETS have sold! I'm working on a wonderful pink one now, which will be here on the blog when finished.

I have enjoyed knitting a number of these this season, The little caplet. Its just enough to take the chill away. I little something that can be worn under your coat in place of a scarf. Worn while out to dinner to take the chill away. Its the perfect size, not to much, just enough. Knitted with hand dyed yarn and a hand made button these little caplets do the job! I have a wonderful pink on the needles now that I will add a big square button. to when finished. The gorgeous turquoise is in the shot, for sale, the olive green is mine to keep! And the purple is a gift. If you find a yarn here and would like to knit this I can share this pattern with you.
Shop will be open each weekend for a few hours so you can stock up on yarn for your winter knitting projects or stop on by for a special hand made gift for someone. As always I will open most anytime by appointment, just give a ring. 1-203-736-2630.
Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas, don't you think?

Holiday Open House Fun! FUN had by all!

Happy Holidays to everyone! What a way to bring the holidays in. We had a blast at our holiday open house. I lost count of how many people came and joined the holiday fun. Santa has a list a mile long, he visited with so many kids that Mrs Claus had to take him home and put him to bed early! Our tree was decorated with ornaments that folks brought and the friendship paper chain that kids made while visiting. So Mike and I will go and purchase an art craft kit to be donated from our farm and all the visitors who added an ornament and a paper chain link to Toys for Tots. . Thank you to all who made the tree decorating a success. The tree sits on our front porch now and will stay there lit for us to look at and remember all the wonderful folks who visited our farm. Then in a couple of weeks the ornaments that were brought will be placed on a tree put up by our local FD at Stevenson Dam for all to enjoy. The animals enjoyed all the attention and received a lot of treats! Just follow the pictures, they tell the wonderful story of the day we had. People made the trek up the long steep driveway to help make our day a dream come true! Happy holidays to all and to all a good day! From all of us at Dream Come True Farn.

AHHHHH, Fall!

I just love the fall! The falling leaves, the crunch when walking through the leaves, the smell of the wood stove burning, the happy attitudes of everyone in the barnyard. And best of all to be able to wear my woolen garments! I have been spinning and offering my handspuns along with the pattern for the neck warmer and really nice wooden buttons that Mike makes out of tree branches. Its a great way to try my handspun yarns and a really quick project that you can complete in an evening. I love the cinnamon color of Monty. And soft? Just a gorgeous feel. If interested in one of these kits let me know I can ship. Visit my Etsy shop and see all the neck warmer kits that I'm offering. www.Pamsfiber.blogspot.com

Weekend update!

Over this past weekend we went to the New England Sheep and Wool festival in Mass. It was wonderful. This was their first year and I hope that all the vendors did well and this will be a yearly event. After being there on Sunday I was inspired to do some work. A sheep and wool festival always does that to me. So I broke out the wild drum carder and went to town on it. I did 14 batts of some wild and crazy fibers. Included in this fiber list is silk, alpaca, sheep, angora goat locks, angora bunny wool, suri alpaca locks, yarn cut into 4 in. pieces, sari silk thread, angeline and embroidery thread! I think I covered it all! I chose the fibers carefully for eash batt, carding it only once through the carder so as to add texture to the yarn when spun. I then sat and spun it all up ending with 7 skeins of WiLd and CrAzY yarn. Works up beautifully with so much character, These are listed in my Etsy shop for sale. The yarn comes with a free pattern that was designed to go along with the wool Check out my etsy shop www.PamsFiber.etsy.com

HUG me!

A real favorite! This my Hug Me wrap. Another easy to wear to take the chill away piece. It doesn't get in the way when sitting at your desk or working around the home. When sitting on the couch it just hugs you and keeps you warm. Easy to knit, its knitted in the round with a few decreases, and knit and purl stitches. I knitted this with smaller skeins from all the alpacas, sheep and llamas! I love it because all my animals are hugging me. They can give you a warm hug too! Pattern available with the purchase of yarn to make this wonderful little wrap. All natural, as nature intended it. Love it!

What is better then a nice warm hug on a chilly day?

New BIG handspuns

Today I dyed and extra BIG handspun yarn with the idea to sell it and offer the caplet pattern shown below. This would make a beautiful caplet I'm trying really hard not to ball it up and start if for myself. But if you saw all the hand knit garments that I have knitted in recent years you would say OFFER it in the shop. I also spun up a BIG skein of the 3-way alpaca, babydoll swirl yarn, all natural and extra soft! The colors in it are dark chocolate brown, steel gray and white all swirled together. I'm offering the WiLd and CrAzY neckwarmer pattern with this yarn and a beautiful handmade wooden branch button. I'm going to be spinning this BIG to offer along with the caplet pattern as well. Our shop we be filled to the brim (like its not already) for our holiday Open House November 27Th and 28Th. Hope to see you then or before. Closed this Sunday do to a Sheep and Wool Festival I'm attending. But OPEN SATURDAY for a couple hours, for your knitting needs! 12 noon until 2PM
